The Use of Animals in Research training program consists of a lecture and hands-on wetlab session. The lecture focuses on global aspects of research, institutional policies, and rodent disease. The wetlab provides hands-on training to personnel who wish to have assistance in performing basic techniques on rodents such as handling and restraint, sexing, injections, blood collection, and gavage. Both classes are required; however, significant experience working with species (more than six months experience) may entitle exemption from the wetlab. Please contact Chineta Pullin at Chineta.Pullin@mssm.edu for group training sessions.
