Neuropsychological Evaluations
Neuropsychological evaluations test problems in brain functioning and evaluate cognitive abilities that inform possible diagnoses and treatment options.
Cognitive Rehabilitation
Cognitive rehabilitation, or cognitive remediation, helps patients maximize recovery of cognitive functioning and learn strategies to compensate for cognitive skills that have been lost or altered as a result of brain injury or other medical conditions.
Individual Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy can help a person to cope with injury-related changes and conditions (i.e. depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, etc.) and to improve social and interpersonal functioning
Couples and Family Therapy
TBI can affect the entire family. Family therapy can help survivors and their loved ones to communicate productively and adjust to changes in interpersonal dynamics after TBI.
Group Treatment
Group therapy provides support and skills training for people living with TBI. Our in-person group-based emotional regulation therapy teaches TBI survivors how to understand and manage their emotions to facilitate clear thinking and improved mood.
Inpatient Rehabilitation
The Brain Injury Unit at The Mount Sinai Hospital provides comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation following a traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, or other type of brain injury. The unit is an integral part of Mount Sinai’s TBI Model System of Care, which one of only 16 such units in the U.S. The unit is also one of only two brain injury services in NYC accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
Concussion Clinic
Our concussion clinic offers interdisciplinary evaluation, management, and follow-up services for adolescents and adults who sustain a concussion. For more information, call 212-241-2221.
