Our doctoral internship is a one-year program which provides foundational training in clinical psychology. The goal of the internship is to provide the opportunity for doctoral students in clinical psychology to develop competence in the application of psychological knowledge and practice to clinical problems in a medical center setting. As the primary setting for this internship is a rehabilitation medicine department, emphasis is placed on clinical experiences in work with individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.
Our program follows a professional practitioner model of clinical training. Trainees gain over 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience, thereby meeting the licensing requirements for one year of doctoral supervised clinical training. Six licensed full-time psychologists supervise our interns, and we accept three interns per year. To date, more than 80 interns have graduated from our program.
Our program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) and is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). The internship’s accreditation status can be verified by contacting the Commission on Accreditation:
