The Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Center is dedicated to furthering ability through clinical care, education, research and innovation. Our residency program strives to develop physical therapists by enhancing their knowledge, skill and expertise with the neurologically impaired population in the many diverse communities in and around New York City.
The Mount Sinai Neurologic Residency is a full time,12-13 month program with a strong focus on brain injury and spinal cord injury. There will be rotations including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient. The majority of the time will be spent on the inpatient rehab brain injury and spinal cord injury units. Time will also be allocated for exposure to research and innovation in the Abilities Research Center. Residents will be prepared to take the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialist Certification in Neurology exam following completion of the program.

The residency provides over 150 hours of one-on-one clinical mentoring from faculty who are experts in the field. Residents will participate in 26 webinars and an online journal club from the Neuroconsortium. This will be in addition to opportunities to participate in a variety of educational rounds provided within Mount Sinai Hospital.
