Office of Faculty Affairs

The Department of Medicine would not be what it is without our faculty; they are our greatest asset. From mentoring and supporting junior faculty to valuing the teaching, research and clinical experience of our senior faculty, we put our faculty’s needs first. We have created an extensive and interactive onboarding checklist to ease your transition into the department. And we have created a strong mentoring program to help junior faculty become senior faculty and move up the academic ranks.

Mentoring

The Department of Medicine is invested in providing guidance to our faculty to help them set career goals and develop skills necessary to progress in their careers. We have an established mentor training workshop series, a strong core of mentoring champions representing each division and a formalized junior faculty mentoring program.

Appointments, Promotions and Tenure (APT)

The Department of Medicine is committed to the career development of its faculty.  This includes support in the promotions process through the academic ranks.  The Department of Medicine has extensive experience in advising its faculty on the timing of promotion, as well as optimizing critical elements of the CV.

Wellness

The Department of Medicine is committed to ensuring that our faculty are themselves healthy and in a position to heal others.
