The ethos of nursing is caring and empathy. At the Mount Sinai Phillips School of Nursing, that principle extends throughout our institution and into the curriculum, and affects how students are cared for every step of the way.

You’ll have the advantage of learning within a world-renowned health system. Your clinical rotations with take place within our seven hospitals and 400 ambulatory practices. As a nursing student in New York City, you will encounter a wide range of health conditions, a diverse patient population, and doctors and nurses who are at the top of their profession.

Students develop close interpersonal relationships with both faculty and staff. This not only facilitates the learning experience, but also how to handle non-academic issues. For instance, if a student has a question about financial assistance, they know where to go and who to talk to. In this fostering environment, students can focus on their studies and excel in their clinical practice. Students have tools and resources to support both their physical and mental well-being. Inside and outside the classroom, we are there for you.

“Mount Sinai Phillips School of Nursing was not easy, but I truly loved every moment of it—every laughter, tear, self-doubt, first semester competencies, back-to-back exams, 4 am clinical wake-up calls, all-nighters, tons and tons of caffeine, sighs of relief, and 50-page study guides. All those moments made me the nurse I am today.”
