Immersive Clinical Experiences

Our Program is integrated within the Department of Genetics and Genomics Sciences, one of the largest departments of its kind in the world. Students go through several clinical rotations alongside exceptional faculty and genetic researchers within the Department, experiencing a variety of patients within a culturally diverse community.

• Reproductive Genetics: Manage the health and well-being of pregnant people and their fetuses
• Cancer Genetics: Help families understand their personal or family history of cancer
• Clinical Genetics: Screening, diagnosing, and treating genetic conditions in children and adults
• Inborn Errors of Metabolism: Advanced clinical and diagnostic services for patients affected by metabolic conditions
• Lysosomal Genetics and Porphyrias: Management, treatment, and counseling for patients with lysosomal storage diseases and porphyrias
• Cardiovascular Genetics: Evaluating, counseling, and treating patients with genetic heart diseases
• Cystic Fibrosis: Evaluating and counseling patients with cystic fibrosis
• Laboratory Genetic Counseling: Understanding the role of a genetic counselor in test utilization, variant interpretation, and more
