Twenty-first century medicine involves hard science, the medical arts, and advanced technology. Embracing all three, while simultaneously maintaining medicine’s core ethical commitments is complicated. The challenge becomes yet more difficult when clinicians also have to navigate today’s complex laws, social arrangements, and political currents. Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) has created partnerships with two outstanding institutions in offering rich opportunities for Graduate education in Bioethics: the Clarkson University and The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY).
The breadth and diversity of ISMMS and its faculty are valuable assets of these programs. We are fortunate to be able to draw on faculty experts from the full range of ISMMS medical specialties and subspecialties as well as internationally renowned faculty members from other institutions. Each member of the faculty brings a unique set of experiences to inform students’ education through a robust cross-disciplinary collaborative endeavor that benefits the program’s trainees.
