Distinction in Medical Education (DIME) recognizes graduating students who have taken leadership roles in medical education and have developed and implemented a scholarly project in medical education at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Apply for DIME
DIME requires a strong, scholarly project plus significant activities in at least two of the remaining domains:
- Education Research and Scholarship (required scholarly project)
- Teaching and Tutoring
- Innovative Curriculum Design and/or Assessment
- Advising/Mentoring
- Education Administration and Leadership
DIME applications must also include a letter from the student’s mentor (ISMMS faculty member) supporting the application and endorsing the submitted scholarly product as well as a confirmation of good academic standing from Student Affairs.
Students receiving a Distinction in Medical Education will be notified in March and recognized with a plaque at the Achievement Ceremony. If you have any questions about applying for DIME, send an e-mail to InstituteMedEd@mssm.edu.
