Mount Sinai/New York Eye and Ear (NYEE) Eye and Vision Research Institute is pushing the borders of discovery in visual sciences to change the lives of the visually impaired. Our pioneering Institute brings together an expert team of multidisciplinary researchers from Mount Sinai and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE) to:
- investigate all aspects of ophthalmology, from the genetic origins of eye disease to the neuroscience of vision, and
- incorporate the latest advancements in nanotechnology and genomics, neuroscience, imaging, precision medicine, stem cell research, and clinical care to develop advanced treatments that preserve and restore sight.
Finding Synergies
We foster integrative, cross-departmental collaborations across the Mount Sinai Health System to apply the latest scientific innovations to transformational breakthroughs in the field of ophthalmology.
Fostering Discoveries
By utilizing advancements in nanotechnology, imaging, and bioinformatics to conduct innovative basic, translational, and clinical research, we uncover the genetic underpinnings that lead to better understanding of diseases of the eye.
Changing Lives
With a focus in regenerative biology, ocular imaging, and genetic links to clinical entities such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and optic nerve diseases, we explore new and pioneering ways to protect the eye, prevent blindness, and even restore vision.
The ISMMS Scholars Portal
The ISMMS Scholars Portal is a research information management tool for tracking research metrics and impact. Scholars Portal helps you to find publications and other kinds of research output, people, projects and grants, research units (departments, institutions, centers), datasets, and research-related activities. Please visit our Scholars Portal website for more details. You may also use the link below to find out more about this area’s research activities available on the Scholars Portal.
