The overall goal of our fellowship is to train our fellows to be superb academic clinicians and/or physician-scientists in Sleep Medicine over a 12-month period of time, and to prepare them to be the next generation of leaders in academic sleep medicine. During the fellowship, fellows will 1. Advance their knowledge in sleep medicine 2. Be able to develop a comprehensive plan to screen, diagnose and treat sleep disorders and 3. Have an advanced understanding of conducting sleep studies, scoring and interpreting polysomnograms, and other diagnostic testing unique to sleep medicine. Additionally, our sleep program offers an optional second year for research through a Multidisciplinary T32 Sleep Research Training Grant for those interested in research.
Curriculum
The Sleep Medicine Fellowship is a 12-month long training program, which includes opportunities to rotate through all sites within the Mount Sinai Health System and the Mount Sinai-National Jewish Respiratory Institute.

How to Apply
The Icahn School of Medicine Program is participating in the ERAS application process and in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). The ideal candidate for our fellowship program is someone who has an interest in pursuing an academic sleep medicine career path. We define academics broadly whether it be in a clinician educator track or physician scientist track. We also include in our definition of academics a career path in quality improvement and medical education.
